Job Description
This role involves working on a production line to assemble materials, operate machinery, and prepare finished parts for shipment. You will rotate through different stations, including assembling components, operating machines, lifting parts off the line, inspecting them for quality, and packing them into boxes. The position requires attention to detail, consistent quality inspection, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Work on the production line to assemble materials and components according to established procedures.
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently under the guidance of experienced operators.
- Lift parts off the production line, perform visual inspections for defects such as scratches, paint marks, and dents, and ensure only quality parts move forward.
- Pack inspected parts into boxes for shipment, following packing and labeling requirements.
- Rotate through various positions on the line based on production needs and personal strengths.
- Handle plastic and foam parts, including lifting and positioning components such as car hoods near the workstation.
- Follow all quality inspection standards and document or report any defects or issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other operators, including working alongside another operator with an experienced operator overseeing the machine.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Work 3rd shift hours (10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.) and be available for overtime, including starting up to 4 hours early, staying up to 4 hours late, and working some Saturdays.
- Support continuous production by adapting to current scheduling needs, including mandatory 12-hour shifts for hourly employees when required.
- At least 6 months of recent manufacturing experience, currently working in manufacturing or having done so within the last 30 days.
- Recent experience in a production worker, operator, assembler, or warehouse position within the last 6 months of work.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Capability to lift and move plastic and foam components, such as car hoods stacked approximately 5–6 high, and place them next to the station.
- Proven visual inspection experience, including identifying defects such as scratches, paint marks, and dents on parts.
- Ability to provide a clear example of prior defect identification in a previous role.
- Demonstrated job longevity, with at least 8 months or longer at each of the past three jobs.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing and general production environment.
- Reliability in attendance and adherence to scheduled shifts, including overtime requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical processes.
- Experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team on a production line.
- Willingness to rotate through different positions and learn multiple tasks.

Work Environment
The role is based in a plastic manufacturing environment that can become hot in the summer months. You will work on 3rd shift from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with the expectation of overtime, including the possibility of starting up to 4 hours early, staying up to 4 hours late, working some Saturdays, and participating in mandatory 12-hour shifts for hourly employees when required. You will work alongside another operator, with a more experienced operator overseeing the machine and providing guidance. The dress code requires work pants, a work shirt, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses, and long fingernails are not permitted due to safety controls. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and emphasizes safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety procedures.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.95 - $16.95/hr.
