About the Role We are looking for a data-driven and creative Email Marketing Manager to own Bandolier’s customer retention strategy across email and SMS. In this role, you will lead the lifecycle marketing roadmap—increasing Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) and driving repeat revenue through elevated, on‑brand communications. You will serve as the internal lead for all email and SMS activity, working in close partnership with an external agency that handles platform operations and deployment. This structure allows the role to focus on what matters most: ensuring every send is rooted in the marketing plan, tied to commercial priorities, written in Bandolier’s voice, and supported by the right creative assets. The ideal candidate thinks strategically, writes compellingly, and collaborates effectively. Strategy & Planning Develop and maintain the monthly and weekly email and SMS content calendar, aligned to the broader marketing plan and commercial priorities Translate product launches, promotional events, and brand campaigns into a clear email and SMS send strategy Map the customer journey to identify opportunities for cross‑selling, upselling, and retention Monitor competitive email and SMS activity across fashion, accessories, and lifestyle brands to inform strategy Adjust plans based on performance data, audience behavior, and business needs 2. Copywriting Write all email and SMS copy including subject lines, preview text, body copy, CTAs, and flow messaging leveraging Ai Tools and copywriter network as needed Maintain a consistent, elevated, and on‑brand tone of voice across all communications Develop copy variations for A/B testing on subject lines & content Apply segmentation and personalization to improve relevance, engagement, and conversion 3. Creative Direction & Collaboration Brief the internal creative team on visual requirements for each campaign including layout direction, imagery needs, and design hierarchy Review and approve creative assets prior to agency handoff, ensuring they meet brand standards and campaign intent Collaborate with the creative team to develop email templates and visual frameworks that reflect Bandolier’s elevated aesthetic Coordinate with marketing stakeholders to ensure assets, copy, and approvals are aligned and delivered on schedule 4. Agency Management Serve as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact for the external email and SMS agency Brief the agency on each send, providing approved copy, creative assets & segmentation direction Review and QA all builds prior to deployment, ensuring accuracy, formatting, and on‑brand presentation across devices Hold the agency accountable to agreed timelines, quality standards, and performance targets 5. Lifecycle & Automation Audit and optimize all active automated flows: Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart, Browse Abandonment, Win‑Back, and Post‑Purchase Build new lifecycle journeys based on customer behavior, commercial priorities, and retention goals Brief and QA all flow builds and updates in partnership with the agency 6. Analytics & Reporting Monitor and report on core KPIs weekly and monthly: Open Rate, CTR, Conversion Rate, Revenue per Recipient, List Growth, and Unsubscribe Rate In Partnership with the Agency, prepare a monthly performance report with insights and actionable recommendations for the CMO and Director of Marketing Lead an A/B testing roadmap across subject lines, send times, content, creative, and offers Monitor deliverability health and proactively flag issues to the agency Qualifications & Experience Experience 4–6+ years of dedicated experience in email marketing, CRM, or retention marketing, preferably within ecommerce or DTC businesses Proven copywriting ability with a portfolio of campaigns that demonstrate brand voice and commercial effectiveness Experience managing external agency relationships including briefing, QA, and performance accountability Fashion, accessories, or lifestyle brand experience strongly preferred Tech Stack Klaviyo : deeply proficient in building complex flows, advanced segmentation, and deliverability best practices Shopify : strong understanding of customer data, order tagging, and integration with marketing tools Asana or equivalent : experience with project management and cross‑functional workflows Basic Figma for email review and edit a plus Competencies Analytical mindset: strong ability to interpret performance data and translate it into actionable marketing strategy Strategic thinker: proven track record of building programs that improved LTV or retention rates Creative sensibility: sharp editorial instincts and appreciation for elevated brand aesthetics Attention to detail: QA is second nature—you catch typos and broken links before anyone else does Organized and self‑directed: comfortable managing multiple campaigns, agency relationships, and approval workflows simultaneously Why Join Bandolier This is an opportunity to shape the future of a distinctive, design‑led brand at a pivotal moment of growth.
