Associate Systems EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate Systems Integration Engineer to join our 787 Systems Integration Engineering team in North Charleston, South Carolina.The Systems Integration Engineer will work with a dynamic and diverse Systems Integration team that supports the design, configuration, production, certification, and delivery of 787s. The Systems integration team supports large-scale multisystem projects from concept, to integrated testing, certification, production incorporation, and delivery.The 787 program is undertaking a number of significant improvements including new features and capabilities to enhance this already highly capable airplane. Additionally, the Systems Integration team supports the entire 787 fleet in service, leading resolution to fleet and safety issues, customer commitments, and overall airplane system product strategy. This opportunity will provide the engineer with a detailed exposure of the core systems components at the heart of the 787, learning about systems interfaces, airplane level thinking, change management, and project management. Successful candidates will have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, solve complex problems, present information to executive leadership, and build and execute integrated project plans.Position Responsibilities:Supports cross-functional teams through the development and integration of large-scale multi-system projects.Work with multiple airplane systems including Environmental Controls Systems, Mechanical Hydraulics, Flight Controls, Electrical Sub-Systems, Electrical Design and Standards, Flight Deck, Cabin Systems, Network Systems, Avionics Systems, and Cyber Security and will lead these teams through a variety of complex projects.Collaborate with airplane safety, regulatory administration, and various 787 program teams such as change management, supply chain, production engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and delivery centers.Implements systems engineering best practices, and process improvements.Working knowledge of the aircraft certification processAble to lead by influence outside formal reporting relationshipsAbility to effectively communicate with a diverse engineering team in order to synthesize complex informationStrong project management skillsAbility to communicate technical and project recommendations to executive managementAbility to travel domestically and internationallyThis position is for first shift and 100% onsiteBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry2+ years of experience developing airplane systems or integrating complex systems2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teamsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): ABET accredited degree3+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s OR 2+ years with a Master's degree. 2+ years in the Aerospace Industry experienceExperience working with and collaborating with executive leadershipExperience supporting production and factoryExperience supporting airline customersConflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
