Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery

Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. The Ambulatory Surgery department provides a wide array of surgical procedures and care in an outpatient setting. Patients requiring attention for medical conditions that can be treated without overnight admission to a hospital are attended to by our team of general and specialized surgery professionals. We provide state-of-the-art technology within a comfortable setting and health care staff who are skilled, knowledgeable and sensitive to patient needs.

As the Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery unit you would have the opportunity to support physician staff within this high-intensity unit, where you would provide quality nursing care to patients in accordance with accepted standards and hospital policy, and coordinate care planning with other disciplines. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR.

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year medical/surgical experience preferred. Current ACLS preferred.
