Outpatient Receptionist

Job Title

Details:

• Full-time
• 32 hours per week
• Weekdays only between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm
• Must be able to work 8-12 hr shifts

Job Summary:

Responsible for greeting outpatients, advising the service area of patient's arrival, and entering the patient in the computerized patient tracking system. Responsible for patient and family hospitality in this outpatient waiting area.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with personal and microcomputer operation or willing to learn such operations.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service oriented.
• Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies.
• Learn quickly from oral and written instructions.
• Understand the ethics of confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and patients' families.
• Work is sedentary in nature with some standing and walking.
• Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
• Must be able to talk and hear to converse with others, in person and over the phone.
• Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to prepare, process, and read written materials.
• Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to operate business machinery.
• Able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
