Yard & Shop Helper

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time Yard & Shop Helper to support our shops. This person is responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly loading bay, shop and yard. In addition, this person performs duties, such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools. They also assist customers with loading and unloading their parts and equipment. We are looking for a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills to help support our growth.Responsibilities:Transfers tools, components, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areasAssists with shop and facility clean up and maintenanceShips and receives components on nightly shuttle trucks.Provides assistance to other departments as requestedPromptly greets and assist customers in the yard and loading baySafely loads and unloads customer trucks and pick-upsMaintains a clean and orderly loading bay area at all timesCleans and maintains component washersCleans equipment using proper equipmentCleans and maintains grounds, parking lots, and other areas, as assignedCleans and maintains large steam room and/or wash bayWorks in a cooperative manner with team and superiorsQualifications:High School Diploma or GED required2+ years experience required in shop or yard, operating equipment and forkliftsDependable, self-starter, and hard-workingGood communication and customer service skillsTeam-player and willing to help wherever neededMaintains safe and organized work areaAble to operate required equipment safely (examples include forklift, sprayers, equipment)This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirementMinimum Physical Requirements:Push/pull up to 50 lbsLift/carry up to 60 lbsLift bulky objectsStanding, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.
