About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Plastic Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning and overall direction of the department, ensuring alignment with the missions and strategic priorities of the School of Medicine and the health system. This role involves the effective management of all administrative and operational processes, providing comprehensive clinical services, and supporting the teaching, educational, and research missions of the department. The Chair will also be tasked with promoting teamwork, fostering a vibrant research enterprise, and maintaining the department's national reputation in various surgical specialties. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, be board-certified in plastic surgery, and be eligible for or currently hold a medical license in the State of California. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of leadership within an academic medical center, a strong record of scholarly achievement, and a demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and retain outstanding faculty, trainees, and staff. The Chair should possess excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative leadership style, and a vision for advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the department. Experience in fostering multidisciplinary collaborations, leading strategic growth initiatives, and a commitment to faculty development and mentorship are also preferred.
