About the Position
Job Opportunity – Critical Care ICU RN – Western North Carolina
Start Date: October 1, 2026
Location: Western North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends. Floating to all areas as needed.
Highlights:
- 16-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit within an 815-bed Magnet-designated hospital and regional referral center
- Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity); RN-focused care model
- Advanced critical care equipment including ventilators, IABP, Impella, CRRT, hypothermia devices, and telemetry
- Cerner electronic medical record system for documentation
- Nationally recognized for clinical excellence – Top 1% hospital rating and Level A Hospital Safety Grade
- Opportunity to work in the busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas and the region's only Level II trauma center
Requirements:
- Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- ICU experience required
- Proficiency in titration of vasoactive medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Experience with ventilators, tracheostomy care, and telemetry interpretation
- Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation
- Familiarity with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, chest tube insertions and maintenance
- CCRN certification recommended; experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT highly desirable
