Job Description Position: Design Specialist (Sales & Interior Design) at Design Within Reach, part of MillerKnoll. Responsibilities Delivers personalized design consultations and solutions to meet client needs. Builds and maintains client relationships, trade professionals, and the local design community. Meets and exceeds sales performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, conversion rates, and client retention. Guides clients through product selection, space planning, and styling. Manages the full client lifecycle using CRM and outreach strategies. Maintains visual merchandising standards and contributes to the store’s overall aesthetic. Stays current on product knowledge, design trends, and industry developments through training and self‑study. Conducts in‑home consultations and attends off‑site meetings with trade clients as needed. Qualifications Experience in retail sales, design consulting, or customer success (preferred). Background in interior design, architecture, or a related field (preferred). Skilled in client needs assessment, problem‑solving, and relationship building. Proficient with Microsoft Office and design tools (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD). Able to lift 20+ lbs and work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Excellent communication and consultative selling skills. Compensation Hourly base rate of $25.00 – $27.00 with uncapped commission on shipped items and a performance‑based bonus plan.
