Vice President, Public Affairs

Full-time

  • CURA Strategies, an award-winning healthcare communications and public affairs agency, is looking for a Vice President of Public Affairs with a deep understanding of healthcare policy and extensive experience executing public and government affairs strategies to join the team. If you are a dynamic leader with a passion for working at the intersection of government affairs and communications, desire a leadership position at a fast-growing agency, and want to apply your skills to help transform health care, we want to talk to you.
  • At CURA, our aim is to transform health care through meaningful client work. Working with clients in the areas of heart disease, rare disease, maternal health, substance use disorders, kidney disease, and more, we pride ourselves in creating lasting results for clients — and we're looking for someone who shares our passion and believes in our mission.
  • Unburden yourself of tired big agency politics that offer no clear path for professional growth and join our growing team of talented people who thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Health Policy Expertise and Public Affairs Strategy: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the U.S. health policy landscape to craft and execute comprehensive public affairs and strategic communication strategies. These strategies, aligned with client objectives in the health care sector, will encompass elements like stakeholder engagement, grassroots initiatives and direct lobbying, all designed to drive positive policy change and improve people's lives. This approach ensures a holistic and proactive advancement of client interests in public affairs and communications.
    • Advocacy Campaigns : Work cross-functionally with communications and digital colleagues to develop and execute advocacy strategies designed to advance clients’ legislative and regulatory priorities.
    • Relationship Building : Proactively develop and nurture impactful relationships with key Congressional offices, relevant federal regulatory agencies, industry coalitions, and other stakeholders to enhance our clients' influence and reputation.
    • Policy Analysis: Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments in health care, providing timely analysis to clients and internal teams to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Client Relationship Management : Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on government affairs and strategic communications, and ensuring their objectives are met.
    • Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of government affairs and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Contribute to team trainings as needed and participate in team-building activities that support the overall CURA culture.
    • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with communications and digital colleagues to ensure we’re delivering integrated approaches to our clients.
    • Business Development: Support new business by identifying opportunities and working with the leadership team to develop proposals. Contribute to ongoing CURA marketing efforts.
