Responsibilities - What You'll Be Doing

• Conduct routine and advanced clinical lab tests-covering areas such as chemistry, hematology, and immunology-following established protocols.
• Examine findings for precision, troubleshoot discrepancies, and carry out maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Assist with the collection of specimens and prepare samples for testing whenever necessary.
• Keep meticulous documentation of all procedures, provide training to new staff or students, and help to maintain lab quality standards.
• Ensure that the work environment is tidy and safe, complying with regulatory and accreditation guidelines.

Education Required

• A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a similar allied health degree coupled with preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.

Certifications Needed

• Obtain ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) within one year of hire.
• Maintain current certification throughout your tenure.
