Sterile Processing Technician (Certified)

The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies to support safe patient care and efficient clinical operations. This role ensures compliance with infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment for all procedural areas.

Qualifications:

• Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: One year of experience in sterile processing, central service in a hospital environment.
• Skills: Ability to read, write, and follow detailed instructions in English. Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking systems. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• License / Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), CSPDT certification required within one year of employment
