Gastroenterologist - Assistant ProfessorThe Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology within the Department of Medicine is recruiting a Gastroenterologist to join our Baylor Medicine practice, providing both outpatient and inpatient care at the Texas Medical Center, including the McNair Campus and Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, inpatient consultative services, shared call coverage, and endoscopy, with a strong emphasis on advanced endoscopic care. The position requires independent performance of EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS to support a growing advanced endoscopy practice, with or without experience with ESD and POEM procedures. Our team is committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and mentorship in advanced endoscopy. Ideal candidates will have formal training in advanced endoscopy (EUS/ERCP) and a strong interest in pancreaticobiliary disorders.Job DutiesEvaluate new and existing patients in the clinic setting and outpatient endoscopyParticipate in the inpatient consult service at Baylor St. Luke'sDevelop a treatment plan for patientsMeet productivity benchmarks established by Baylor College of MedicineParticipate in all routine clinical meetings held with the immediate work groupMaintain required certifications and licensingBecome familiar with Electronic Medical Record system, enter data into EMR, and develop a level of competency to document all patient encountersComplete all documentation in a timely mannerOrders for diagnostic services and referrals to specialistsBe an active member of a clinical group practice, including educational activities such as participate in Grand Rounds, monthly faculty meetings & retreatsShare call responsibilities within the clinical group and provide medical care to the patients of other providers when they are not availableMeet or exceed all quality indicatorsMaintain professionalism in relationships with students, faculty, ancillary and administrative staffAll professional billing and appropriate credentialing paperwork must be completed/renewed well ahead of their expirationParticipate in clinical case reviews, patient consultations, and post-procedural careEngage in educational activities in the sectionContribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical documentationSupport the development of clinical protocols and best practices in advanced endoscopyMinimum QualificationsMinimum Education: M.D.Minimum Job Experience: Residency & Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration: License from Texas Medical Board certification.
