Overview
Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care in Bluefield, Virginia. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting on 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks in a skilled nursing setting. You’ll earn a weekly pay range of $1,970 to $2,069 with guaranteed hours of 35 per week. The assigned shift is a days pattern, 5 days per week, 08:00–16:30. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents’ speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing function.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical goals and facility policies.
- Provide direct speech-language pathology services, including restorative, compensatory, and maintenance interventions.
- Document progress accurately and ensure timely communication of results to the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dietary, and medical staff to maximize safe swallowing and effective communication.
- Educate residents, families, and care teams on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and discharge planning considerations.
