The monthly salary range for this position is $5,802 to $7,263. Please Note: Main communication for this position will be through email. Department Website: Job Description And Duties Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 17 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period. This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. The Supervising Registered Nurse II, Correctional Facility, under the direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse III, Correctional Facility, is responsible for direct supervision of clinical activities of the Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and licensed nursing staff, in State service or provided by contract registries. May perform Health Care related duties consistent with the RN Scope of Practice. Minimum Qualifications: All Levels: Possession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.) Either I Experience: One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Supervising Registered Nurse I, Correctional Facility. Or II Experience: Three years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Registered Nurse, Correctional Facility. Or III Experience: Three years of registered nursing experience within the last five years, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, and two years of which must have been in a general acute care hospital. (Possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of general acute care hospital experience.) Candidates who are within six months of completing the experience requirements will be admitted to the examination, but they must complete all requirements before they will be considered eligible for appointment. Please note: A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
