Patient Access Medical Office AssistantJoin our team as the first point of contact for patients navigating one of the most important moments in their care journey.About the RoleCancer & Hematology Centers (CHC) is looking for a detail-oriented, patient-focused Patient Access MOA to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key part of the patient experience from the very first phone call through scheduling, records coordination, and ongoing support. You'll work closely with referring providers, clinical teams, and patients to make sure every step of the intake process runs smoothly.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, thrives in a fast-paced medical office environment, and wants to make a meaningful difference for patients and families during a critical time in their lives.What You'll DoServe as a liaison between CHC and referring provider offices regarding referrals and new patient appointmentsCoordinate provider schedules to ensure timely scheduling of new patients with the right specialistsVerify patient demographic and insurance information and gather medical records to complete the intake processAnswer and direct incoming calls, take accurate messages, and manage hospital consult requestsMaintain medical records through scanning, filing, and organizing patient documentationManage correspondence, mail, and medical records requests, including coordination with outside officesCollaborate with care team members to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated patient experienceSupport quality improvement efforts that make care more efficient and patient-friendlyWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Associate degree (preferred)1–2 years of experience in a medical office or similar environment (preferred)Comfort working with electronic medical records (EMR) systemsMedical assistant certification is a plusStrong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with care and accuracyA genuine interest in supporting patients through an important and often emotional part of their healthcare journeyWhy CHCAs part of Cancer & Hematology Centers, an affiliate of OneOncology, you'll join a mission-driven team dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality cancer and blood disorder care across Michigan.
