Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to support transmission, distribution, and substation projects throughout Oregon and California. This role is responsible for environmental compliance, permitting support, and regulatory coordination across all phases of utility infrastructure construction projects.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Environmental Planning & Coordination: Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and project teams to embed environmental considerations into project plans and execution strategies, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
• Compliance Management: Facilitate and monitor compliance with a range of federal, state, and local environmental regulations including NEPA, ESA, the Clean Water Act, and others. Ensure project activities align with permit conditions and environmental commitments.
• Field Monitoring & Assessments: Conduct thorough field observations and inspections to assess environmental impact, identify risks, and support practical mitigation strategies. Document findings rigorously and recommend appropriate adjustments to project execution as required.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and alignment on environmental goals and compliance status.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed environmental reports, maintain extensive records of compliance activities, and track corrective measures diligently to uphold accountability throughout project phases.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field.3+ years of environmental experience supporting utility, power delivery, construction, infrastructure, or EPC projects.Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, ESA, the Clean Water Act, and applicable state and local requirements.Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to work in active construction environments and adapt to changing field conditions.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate field conditions, identify practical solutions, and support timely decision-making.

Base Compensation: $90,000/yr - $110,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
