Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Brooksville, FL
Position Type: Full-Time
SHIFT: Full-time (rotating weekends)

Compensation :

Sal Range: MIN $27.09 - $37.92/ Hour

ON CALL: $2

NIGHT DIFF: $2.50

Sign on: Night Shift- 10K/ Day shift- $5K

Relocation - Case by case

The ideal candidate will be experienced in multiple lab disciplines and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and stat laboratory testing in areas such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology
• Ensure accurate and timely test results while following established procedures and regulatory standards
• Interpret and correlate patient results using independent judgment (including delta checks)
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation and patient records
• Perform quality control procedures and take corrective actions when results fall outside acceptable ranges
• Review pending and result logs , resolving outstanding tasks or communicating with incoming staff
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Assist in monitoring reagents and inventory supplies
• Handle critical values and specimens in accordance with established protocols
• Support compliance with regulatory agencies (e.g., CAP )
• Assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor
• Maintain ongoing education and competency requirements

 

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
• Active Florida State Medical Technologist License (required)
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist (required)
• Experience across multiple lab disciplines ( Generalist preferred )
