Part Time Salary

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $140,000.00 Annually

Unity House of Troy is seeking to contract a Part-Time Psychiatrist or Medical Doctor to serve as Medical Director, providing clinical supervision and regulatory oversight across behavioral health services, including the OMH-licensed MHOTRS outpatient clinic and individuals receiving Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) services, including those served by the Unity House ACT Team.

This role focuses on supervising psychiatric care, supporting two Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NPPs), and ensuring services are delivered in a trauma-informed, person-centered, and compliant manner.

The Medical Director will work in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services to support coordinated care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to two Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in accordance with New York State requirements

• Review and co-sign documentation as required

• Provide consultation on complex cases, including diagnostic clarification and medication management

• Support appropriate prescribing practices and ongoing medication monitoring

• Provide psychiatric consultation and support for individuals on Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), to those served within the ACT team

• Prepare clinical documentation required for AOT court processes, including affidavits and treatment summaries

• Provide testimony in court when appropriate to support AOT proceedings

• Review and sign off on treatment plans as required

• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case discussions

• Support coordination between prescribers and clinical teams

• Support a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and client-centered approach to care

• Reinforce non-judgmental, evidence-based treatment practices

Qualifications

• MD or DO

• Active New York State medical license (or ability to obtain)

• DEA registration

• Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners preferred

• Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and those involved in Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), ACT, or similar community-based behavioral health programs required

• Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered, and collaborative care
