Billing Clerk

Job Title: Billing Specialist / Payroll Specialist Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027 Duration: 12 months Schedule: Hybrid Job Summary This role supports billing operations by compiling data, creating invoices, reviewing customer accounts, and helping ensure the accuracy of customer receivables. The candidate will work closely with the billing team and gain hands-on experience with internal billing systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a team responsible for generating approximately 1.7 million invoices per month Learn the billing system to support invoice creation under supervision Review and analyze customer accounts to ensure transactions are billed accurately Perform customer data integrity checks and investigate questionable billing items Compile, analyze, and validate customer revenue Create and revise manual invoices Research and resolve customer billing issues Process customer billing adjustments and refund requests Assist in researching and resolving customer credit balances Follow all SOX-required controls Support billing related to landfill and transfer station operations as needed Research and resolve unfamiliar issues Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED At least 1 year of relevant experience in: Billing Accounts Receivable Accounting/Finance support Or prior experience in a similar environment Required Skills Basic computer skills in MS Office / Windows Proficiency in data entry, ten-key, and MS Excel Strong problem-solving ability Good organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict timelines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain strong working relationships with coworkers and customers Analytical thinking and pattern recognition Process improvement and operational efficiency mindset Root cause analysis and investigation skills Strong communication and documentation skills Preferred Skill SQL experience preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr vTech Solution
