Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

We are seeking experienced candidates for the position of Sterile Processing Tech (SPT). This role is critical in maintaining high standards of sterilization and disinfection across various service lines within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of all items, including drills, Davinci systems, and scopes.
• Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging.
• Manage sterilization processes utilizing Sterrad and steam methods.
• Provide experience in high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope management.
• Maintain sterile storage areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Act as a liaison with the operating room (OR) to facilitate effective communication and workflow.
• Utilize the Censitrac tracking system for instrument management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sterile processing environment.
• Certification as a Certified Board Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required.
• Previous travel assignments in sterile processing are required.

Work Schedule

This position requires a shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with scheduled rotating weekends and occasional holidays from Monday to Friday.

Eligibility Restrictions

• Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for future assignments.
• Candidates reaching the maximum one-year contract limit are not eligible for extensions.
• Individuals residing within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for this position.
