Manufacturing Equipment Engineer-TX

Job Overview As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for making continuous improvements to our automated production equipment for the manufacturing of electrical systems for electric vehicles, data centers, stationary power, etc. This will involve rapid, efficient responses to real-time issues, and then driving permanent resolutions and improvements in collaboration with our maintenance and operations staff, as well as driving continuous improvement of our preventative maintenance programs. Responsibilities Systematically apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software components to identify and solve problems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all production equipment. Work closely with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers and Operators to meet equipment requirements and make improvements to existing systems. Work hands‑on with roll‑to‑roll web handling and processing equipment, including rollers, drives, edge guides, brakes, and steering mechanisms. Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience / Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering desired. 2+ years of hands‑on experience as an Equipment Design Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, or similar experience desired. Experience with design, assembly and/or maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment strongly preferred. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology. Strong organizational skills and detail‑oriented mindset. Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast‑paced startup setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to use hand and machine tools safely. Preferred Skills Solid background in using 3D computer aided design software. Experience using PLC, and device configuration software. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Experience developing discrete simulation models. Experience with extracting and analyzing manufacturing data.
