At Apex, you don't just join a company, you help shape what comes next.About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or be eligible to obtain one within six months. This role requires hands-on experience with transportation and traffic engineering projects across the state, including work with FDOT and local municipalities.Your Responsibilities as a Transportation/Traffic Engineer:Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, including technical documentation and coordination with FDOT reviewers.Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities and counties throughout Florida.Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic, including scenario development and LOS evaluation.Perform traffic signal design, including plans, timing sheets, and coordination plans in alignment with FDOT and local agency standards.Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation engineering projects.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Florida PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.Valid drivers license and clean driving history.Sponsorship not available now or in the future.Proficiency in:Synchro/SimTrafficHCS (preferred)MicroStation or AutoCAD (preferred)Experience with:FDOT driveway connection permittingTraffic Impact Statements for local municipalitiesTraffic signal designWhy You'll Love Working For Us:Company-subsidized medical and dental.Company-paid life, short, and long-term disability.401k match, tuition assistance, and more.Cross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects.Performance-based bonuses or other incentives.Working with the best and brightest in the industry.2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the US.
