In this 150 bed full service acute care hospita l, the Medical Surgical Pediatrics Nurse deliver comprehensive care across pediatric and medical-surgical settings using the full nursing process. The patient population spans geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn, including outpatient and observation cases requiring stabilization after illness or injury. A Pediatric Registered Nurse on the unit applies age-specific growth and development knowledge to tailor assessments, education, and interventions for infants one day old through adolescents and adults. State-of-the-art monitors, medication safety systems, and multidisciplinary huddles support timely decisions and excellent outcomes. The Med-Surg Pediatric Nurse contributes to a collaborative environment aligned to national patient safety goals and high-reliability practices.

Reporting to Medical Surgical Leadership with daily guidance from a Charge Nurse, practice is empowered by friendly nurses, experienced preceptors, and a diverse team of physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, therapists, and case managers. Core responsibilities include holistic assessment, development and evaluation of individualized plans of care, safe medication administration, and clear interprofessional communication and documentation.
