Responsibilities Under general direction from the Caltrans Maintenance Manager II and direct supervision from the Caltrans Electrical Area Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for levels of service on electrical inventory items in the District. Enforces safety and health policies and procedures as contained in the Department’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program; holds knowledge of environmental, storm water, emergencies, natural disasters, accident prevention techniques, principles of effective supervision and safe work practices. Supervisor reviews and maintains proper operation of assigned equipment, and is responsible for training, safety, upward mobility, maintaining discipline, and administrative transactions of employees assigned to the area of responsibility. Working Conditions Location: 4821 Adohr Ln, Camarillo, Ventura County. Work in a wide range of sometimes extreme conditions, including heat up to 120°F, cold to 30°F, strong winds, rain, dust, noise, and uneven surfaces. May be required to work overtime due to emergencies, special projects, or department needs with proper advance notice. Personal safety requirements include appropriate footwear, long or short sleeve shirts provided by Caltrans, safety vest worn over non-safety shirts or coats, long pants; no shorts or cutoffs; hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection devices, face shields, gloves, respirator, chaps, and reflective vest worn over white coveralls as needed for night work. Minimum Requirements California Class C driver’s license. Possession of a valid driver’s license required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle. Desirable Qualifications Commercial Class A or Class B driver’s license desirable but may be required.
