Safety Coordinator

DescriptionOur McComb, MS lumber mill has an immediate opening for an Hourly Safety Coordinator. This position is a full-time developmental role that will provide excellent growth potential and opportunities for advancement. The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in helping the site to achieve this success.This position will report to the site Safety Manager and assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to ensure personnel and facility safety. Participates in monitoring and controlling execution of the organization’s safety standards to ensure compliance with OSHA and State/Provincial regulations. Assists in the development and implementation of programs and record keeping systems to track and evaluate personnel injury and illnesses. Assists with internal audits and incident investigations and inspections of procedures, equipment, and materials.QualificationsKnowledge of OSHA regulations / requirementsPassion for safety as demonstrated by a strong commitment to associate safetyKnowledge of chemical and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) systems managementAbility to build positive working relationships with hourly and salaried associatesProactive, assertive and ability to work with a sense of urgencyAbility to plan, prioritize and work under pressure and meet deadlinesDemonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of health & safety software programsHigh level of integrity, strong work ethic, good judgment, and problem-solving skillsWillingness to work extended hours should a situation warrantAll applicants must upload resume detailing education and job historyPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree preferred with 2-5 years mill / safety committee experienceSafety & industrial hygiene certification and/or trainingWhat We Offer:Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $50,100-$75,100 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use.
