We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Building, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group as an Electrical Project Engineer (PE) to be located at our Raleigh Corporate Headquarters. 4300 Edwards Mill Road Suite 200 Raleigh, NC 27612, USA Your Day‑to‑Day Will Include: Act as a technical expert as part of a multi‑discipline project team on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, supporting power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and voice/data systems for a variety of facilities including healthcare, higher education, institutional, federal, state and local government, K‑12 education & other commercial/industrial facilities. Serve as the lead electrical engineer for projects, producing design/construction drawings and specifications and acting as the Engineer of Record for the work performed and by subordinates supervised. Act as the client interface for project electrical matters. Undertake and direct evaluations of electrical equipment/systems, lighting, fire alarm, and specialty building systems; prepare design computations and assessments. Generate and oversee electrical design/construction drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD software. Assess the condition of electrical systems within existing facilities. Ensure completion of electrical design tasks within budget and on schedule. Assist in the development of subordinate staff in electrical design best practices. Communicate and coordinate designs, write reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals and client representatives to complete work efficiently. Stay current with local, state & federal design standards and regulations. Help develop new work and clients related to electrical design services for the aforementioned facility types. What You Need: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or an Architectural Engineering degree with an electrical focus, from an ABET‑accredited university. 4 years minimum of documented applicable experience working on facilities similar to those described above. Registered Professional Engineer in the State of NC with current NCEES certificate. Process‑oriented individual with strong organization, technical and communication skills. Solid communicator, able to take and understand directives from a Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer and coordinate efforts with the design team. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam. Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) commensurate with experience. Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands. Significant applicable experience using Autodesk REVIT; additional experience with AutoCAD is preferred. Experience leading the design efforts of subordinate staff. Maintains a high level of precision and accuracy and is methodical in the approach to work. High technical aptitude, interested in technology and staying current in the field. Ability to climb ladders and perform typical field survey duties of existing facilities. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
