Registered Nurse Acute Care Telemetry PRN

Job Summary Do you have a PRN career opportunity as an Acute Care Telemetry Registered Nurse with your current employer? We have an exciting PRN opening with HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. In this role, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, following established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” You will advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and embody our organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess the patient’s condition during admission and at the start of each shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care in the patient’s medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse with an active license in Texas or a multistate license with Texas. Associate’s degree minimum; Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1 year of experience working in an acute hospital Med‑Surg telemetry unit.
