Job Description and Duties

If you are a detail-orientated, customer service-driven, analytical and organized individual then the California Department of Justice, Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA), is looking for you!

As an Analyst II in the DMFEA Case Management and Outreach Branch, the incumbent develops, implements, and maintains enhanced database protocols while committed to excellent customer service. Under the Supervisor I, the Analyst II maintains the Division's Case Management System (ProLaw) protocols and generates reports, compiles statistics, performs quality assurance checks, reviews court documents, and analyzes case information. The Analyst II analyzes and applies parameters set by the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) Performance Standards.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Knowledge and experience with ProLaw, MS Excel, Adobe, Outlook, Word, State Administrative Manual, and the State Contract Manual. Ability to analyze and resolve problems, examine court documents, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, work effectively with all levels of management, executives, and other state agencies. The individual should be dependable, motivated, punctual, and have excellent organizational skills, all while being a team player.

Statement of Qualifications

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience, and skills meet the minimum and desirable qualifications and qualify you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing and should be typed in 12-point Arial font, single-spaced, and no more than two pages in length. Address each prompt individually, identifying each response separately. Failure to follow the format will result in disqualification.

1. Describe your Microsoft Excel experience, including experience analyzing data, developing or using formulas in Excel and/or Power Query.

2. Describe your experience working with data redundancies and data inconsistencies and what processes do you perform to utilize this information for developing reports and/or metrics.
