About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Must have an active RN license in hand prior to start Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Epic experience - Skills in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and telemetry - Ability to manage insulin and participate in rapid response situations Description: The position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The shift is 4x12, Days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6, with occasional flexing to 1:7 if needed. Weekend work is required, with every other weekend being mandatory. On-call may be required as needed for low census situations. Travelers may need to float to similar units as necessary. Experience working within a similar patient demographic is preferred. Candidates must have Basic Life Support certification. Additional certifications such as ACLS and NIHSS are preferred. The unit handles typical adult medical-surgical diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support includes teams for IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Travelers should be aware that emergency response duties may be assigned during hurricane season. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for this role. All required skills and certifications should be current and in good standing before starting.
