Our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive, 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17, who are experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate, trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.Our on-site, year-round school is accredited by: North Central Association (NCA), licensed by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), and staffed by educators trained in trauma-sensitive teaching. We offer individualized instruction, including services for students with IEPs, and empower youth to achieve academic, social and emotional success.Special Education Teacher job duties include:Working with students on social/communication skills, coping mechanisms, verbal/physical aggression, and emotional/behavioral challenges that impact overall functioning.Developing lesson plans and proficiently delivering curriculum using available digital teaching methods and educational models that are aligned with state standardsAssessing student performance objectives on a regular basis and providing progress reports as requiredAligning classroom content within the Arizona State Standards and Common Core Standards, as well as collaborating with teaching colleagues to plan, facilitate, and teach highly effective literacy instructionClassroom Structure:Low student-teacher ratios! Classroom sizes range from 8-12 students with a 6:1 student-to-staff ratio, including 1-2 direct care professional staff members in the classroom for additional supportTeachers have immediate access to school support staff, teaching materials and supplies, and a state of the art database with tracking capabilities to help with data accumulationYear-round school (*approx 225 instructional/grading/in-service days, 35 preset holiday break days, 19 additional float days, and accumulated sick time) *Number of days are subject to change with school yearProvide direct in-classroom instruction (we are not teaching virtually/online)Bring your skills, compassion, and creativity to a classroom where your impact can be seen every day.
