About The Role The Dental Treatment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between patients and dental care providers by facilitating clear communication and ensuring patients understand their treatment options and financial responsibilities. This position is responsible for guiding patients through their treatment plans, answering questions, and coordinating appointments to optimize patient experience and treatment acceptance. The coordinator works closely with dentists, assistants, and administrative staff to streamline treatment workflows and enhance overall office efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a dental office; ideally a similar patient coordination role. Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix / Eaglesoft) Experience working with dental insurance claims and benefit verification systems Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards Excellent communication and organizational skills Background in customer service or sales, ability to guide patients through decision-making Bilingual - Spanish (preferred) Responsibilities Serve as primary point of contact for patients regarding treatment plans, financial options, and appointment scheduling Explain dental procedures, treatment plans, and associated costs clearly and compassionately to patients Maintain patient records and confidentiality according to HIPAA Address objections and negotiate treatment plans and costs Verify insurance benefits and assist patients in understanding their coverage and out-of-pocket expenses.
