Physical Therapist Inpatient

Overview This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard practices. It also involves consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers, collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient-centered care. Location Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Schedule Full-Time, 36 hours per week. Late shift, 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM with flexible weekend coverage: choose every other full weekend, Saturdays only, or Sundays only. Compensation Hourly rate: $42.66 – $65.82 per hour. Essential Functions Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and abides by service standards. Provides skilled physical therapy services, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups, conducting evaluations and treatments per APTA standards, and developing care plans with specific goals. Meets established productivity standards for the department or service line. Keeps thorough and timely patient records, and completes billing accurately and promptly. Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Manages all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high-quality care. Participates in and promotes continuing education opportunities for self and staff, seeking new learning opportunities per licensure requirements. Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, and experience per Intermountain Operating Model; participates in utilization review audits. Participates in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, staff meetings, and professional work groups. Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program and achieve department goals. Preferred Qualifications Vestibular treatment; experience in an outpatient setting or emergency department. Qualifications Current Physical Therapist license in the state(s) of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Basic computer skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with target populations of the job setting. Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately, especially during emergency situations. Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment, frequent computer use, typing for documentation, and medication preparation. Ability to lift and transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies, and carry items of varying weights up to heavy loads. Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing or pulling gurneys and portable equipment. May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
