Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking processes! In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and measurement will ensure that every part meets strict specifications. We’re looking for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to develop their skills in CNC programming, machine setup, and quality inspection. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders, all while contributing to innovative manufacturing solutions.
Duties
- Operate CNC machines including lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine parameters using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing G-code and M-code commands; modify programs as needed for different jobs or improvements.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing drawings accurately to ensure proper machining processes.
- Conduct quality inspections during and after machining using measurement instruments; perform CNC quality inspections to verify dimensions and tolerances aligned with GD&T standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in tooling selection, machine setup, and adjustments for manual machining when necessary; support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or CAD programs for interpreting design files.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for precise measurement and calculations during setup and inspection.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
