Forklift Operator Material Handler Warehouse

Position: Forklift Operator / Driver (Lansing, MI) Ryder is hiring Forklift Operators and Material Handlers in Lansing, Michigan. Compensation Hourly Pay: $18.72 - $19.15 per hour Overtime Pay: $28.08 - $28.72 per hour Shift Premium: $1.00 when working Second Shift Schedule: Second Shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm, with overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed Benefits Warehouse positions paid each week On‑the‑job paid training Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and other benefits starting after 30 days Paid time off 401(k) company match Employee discount of 15% on stock Employee discounts on tools, cars, hotels, electronics/appliances, cell phones, travel and more Safety gear provided; safety is the first priority State‑of‑the‑art equipment and caring leadership Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred Valid Forklift Operator's license certified Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Team player and can work in a diverse work environment Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization Highly thorough and dependable Must be punctual and have a good attendance record Can work independently with minimal supervision High degree of initiative High level of accuracy, even under pressure Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to work using health and safety methods Available to work a flexible schedule across various shifts Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices Responsibilities Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting Execute duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract Accurately pick and pack, audit, tote induction, staging of products, and load/unload trucks Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.) Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours of production Handle automotive parts using sit‑down forklifts and stand‑up tugger Perform other duties as assigned Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to whom you are assigned.
