Job Summary
The Mechanical Assembler performs complex assembly, modification, and rework activities on electronic and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and systems. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, soldering expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established work plans, process sheets, and applicable quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Install a variety of mechanical devices, hardware, and wire harnesses according to established assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Perform wire soldering and related assembly techniques as required.
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify various production subassemblies by following approved work plans and process documentation.
- Perform hand soldering, through-hole soldering, surface-mount soldering, and solder rework.
- Inspect completed assemblies and workmanship to ensure conformance with IPC-A-610/620 standards.
- Read, understand, and follow process sheets, work plans, and assembly instructions.
- Use various hand tools and equipment to complete electronic and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Perform simple testing of completed assemblies or components as required.
- Perform duties associated with lower-level assembler positions as needed.
- Maintain quality and workmanship standards throughout the assembly process.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- 3 to 4 years of electronic assembly experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of high school or trade school education.
- Experience with hand soldering, through-hole soldering, surface-mount soldering, and solder rework.
- Ability to achieve required company and customer soldering certifications for applicable assembly and soldering techniques.
- Ability to read and follow process sheets, work plans, and assembly instructions.
- Ability to use various hand tools and perform basic testing.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to work with electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to inspect completed work for conformance with applicable quality standards.
- 4 to 8 years of electronic and/or mechanical assembly experience.
- Strong soldering skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- M ust achieve the specified soldering certification(s) in applicable assembly and soldering techniques in accordance with company and customer sta ndards.
