Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entrance Desk in Cambridge, MA , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour Job Schedule Sat: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM Sun: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a front desk post in a commercial real estate location. Monitor access at the front desk by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and documenting arrivals and departures according to site procedures. Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating with building management, tenants, and/or emergency personnel as needed. Answer phones, assist tenants and guests with directions and general inquiries, and complete required logs, reports, and other front desk documentation related to security‑related activities. Observe lobby and entry areas for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns, and report findings through appropriate channels to help support site operations. Minimum Requirements Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
