Position Overview:

Join our team as a Manufacturing Technician and contribute to the production of high-quality fiber optic products. Apply your technical expertise and analytical skills to optimize manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement in our facility.

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the development, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes related to fiber optic production. You will work closely with process and production team members to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes while adhering to quality standards and efficiency targets.

What You Will Do

1. Support the Planner, Leads, and Management to ensure daily setup of production lines align with daily production schedules (Day Shift 6am – 3pm, Night Shift 2pm-11pm, initial training period schedule will be 8am-5pm but can be adjusted).

2. Responsible for building prototypes and tool recommendations for new products.

3. Collaborate with process team to conduct tests, experiments, and data analysis to identify process improvements.

4. Perform equipment setup, calibration, and maintenance to ensure proper functionality and reliability. Setup calibration schedule and send equipment out as needed.

5. Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing processes, identifying, and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

6. Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operating procedures.

7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, and production, to address process-related challenges and implement solutions.

8. Provide technical support and training to production associates, ensuring their understanding and adherence to standardized processes.

9. Collect and analyze process data, generating reports and presenting findings to the team.

10. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing process enhancements such as work instructions/visual aids, new layouts or assembling equipment to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

11. Performs additional duties as required.

What You Will Bring

• Associates degree or higher in engineering or a related field experience.

• Experience using CAD software to support manufacturing processes is a plus, with SolidWorks experience preferred; academic use is acceptable.

• Previous experience as a process engineering technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fiber optic industry is preferred.

• Proficient in performing dimensional measurements and applying geometric tolerancing techniques as well as conducting calibration procedures.

• Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, using statistical methods and software tools.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast-paced production environment.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies and meet deadlines.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and train associates.

• Bilingual Spanish speaking is highly preferred.

• Proficient in using software applications for data analysis and documentation.
