Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist with their needs in a respectful manner.
• Register patients by accurately collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Enter data into electronic systems with precision, minimizing errors.
• Collect co-pays and handle telephone inquiries promptly, triaging calls as necessary.
• Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff to support care delivery.
• Manage incoming referrals, gather necessary records, and organize patient appointments.
• Scan and maintain patient documents and track authorizations when required.
• Collaborate with team members to complete work queues efficiently within the electronic health record system.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have graduated from an accredited medical receptionist program or possess at least two years of experience in a healthcare setting.

Experience

Two years of medical clerical experience in an office environment is preferred, especially with skills in word processing and personal computing. Experience with medical insurance processes is also advantageous.

Requirements

No specific certifications or licenses are required. The role demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods and the ability to work under stressful conditions. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to infectious diseases, odors, noise, and a busy, high-traffic area.
