Head of Legal, Compliance & Data ProtectionLocation: Oxford - HybridSalary: £85,000-£100,000Our client, a leading international organisation in Automotive, is seeking an experienced legal professional to lead its Legal, Compliance and Data Protection functions across its UK business. This is a high profile leadership role, working closely with senior executives and international stakeholders to provide commercially focused legal advice, strengthen governance, and ensure compliance across a complex, regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Legal, Compliance and Data Protection functionsProvide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior leadershipOversee commercial contracts, negotiations and legal riskDevelop and maintain the Compliance Management Framework, including anti-bribery, competition law, anti-money laundering and corporate governanceAct as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and data protection legislationManage Subject Access Requests (SARs), data breaches, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and regulatory engagementManage litigation, disputes and external legal advisersFulfil Company Secretarial and corporate governance responsibilitiesExperience You will be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with significant experience in commercial law, compliance and corporate governance gained within a large or international organisation.You will also have:A strong understanding of UK GDPR and data protection legislationExperience managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) and wider data protection complianceExcellent commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic legal adviceStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior leadersExperience managing complex legal, regulatory and compliance mattersThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well established international organisation in a strategic leadership role, where you will have the opportunity to influence key business decisions and make a significant impact
