Escrow Assistant

Assist escrow officer with opening, processing, and closing escrow files Order title commitments, loan payoffs, and other necessary documents Review and prepare escrow instructions, amendments, and settlement statements Communicate with clients, lenders, agents, and internal staff regarding status and required items Manage incoming funds and disbursements per escrow instructions Maintain compliance with state and company regulations Requirements High school diploma or GED required Familiarity with real estate documents, including purchase agreements, deeds, loan documents, and title commitments Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing instructions, reviewing documents, and balancing files Organizational skills to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously Strong customer service and communication skills Problem-solving ability to resolve document discrepancies, title issues, and closing conditions Computer proficiency Ability to calculate balances and prorations and verify financial figures 1–2 years of escrow, title, mortgage, banking, or related real estate experience is usually preferred; entry-level positions may be available with training Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in managing escrow processes, including opening, processing, and closing files while ensuring compliance with regulations.
