Job Description Commercial HVAC Service Technician Location Newport News, VA Pay Range $30.00–$40.00/hour (DOE) + Overtime Opportunities Job Type Full-Time | Field Service About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our growing service team in Newport News, VA. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex commercial HVAC systems, delivering exceptional customer service, and mentoring junior technicians. You’ll work on medium to large commercial heating and cooling systems while building your technical expertise and pursuing opportunities for long-term career advancement. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment and associated control systems. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, system inspections, and equipment testing. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues. Repair or replace defective HVAC components and verify proper system operation. Service medium to large commercial heating and cooling systems. Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and journeyman-level technicians. Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Maintain accurate service records and communicate job status with dispatch and management. Deliver professional customer service and maintain positive client relationships. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures. Qualifications Experience servicing and maintaining commercial HVAC systems. Strong mechanical, electrical, and HVAC controls troubleshooting skills. Experience working with medium to large commercial heating and cooling equipment. EPA Universal Certification required. Journeyman or Master HVAC License preferred, but not required. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
