This role focuses on the safe operation and maintenance of ammonia (NH3) refrigeration equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety, food, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include:Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on industrial refrigeration equipment, including ammonia (NH3) and related systemsReceive, initiate, and complete preventive maintenance and scheduled work ordersRespond to refrigeration alarms, system issues, and emergency maintenance situationsPerform ammonia system pump-downs and system isolation when requiredCoordinate outside contractors in accordance with safety and plant proceduresAssist with installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and related equipmentUnderstand and comply with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and plant safety proceduresMaintain accurate maintenance and work order documentationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all timesWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Manufacturing environment with temperatures ranging from -20°F to 120°FAbility to lift and/or carry objects up to 50 lbsAbility to walk, stand, climb, bend, crawl, and work in confined spacesAbility to respond quickly and move efficiently in emergency situationsQualifications:Experience working with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems is requiredRefrigeration schooling with 1+ year of related experience, OR 3+ years of relevant refrigeration experience without formal schoolingWelding and/or brazing experienceElectrical troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manualsBasic mathematical skillsWillingness to work overtime or extended hours as requiredPreferred Certifications:Process Safety Management (PSM) training or certification – a plusEPA Type II Certification – preferredPre-Employment Requirements:Ability to pass a drug test, background check, fit test, and pulmonary function testWillingness to complete confined space and safety training as requiredJob Details:Pay Range: $25 - $35 per hourJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: In personAbout Dessert Holdings Dessert Holdings is a collection of premium dessert companies and brands: The Original Cakerie, Lawler's Desserts, Atlanta Cheesecake Company, Steven Charles, Dianne's Fine Desserts, Kenny's Great Pies, and Willamette Valley Pie Company.
