Veterinary Lab Assistant Position at BluePearl Pet HospitalBluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Lab Assistant to work on our team in Tukwila, Washington!Pay: $23.61 - $32.82 /HrThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.For example:Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift DifferentialAs a Veterinary Lab Assistant, you will:Maintain a safe and clean laboratory by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Run quality control samples to verify accurate results on equipment.Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment.Prepare and document specimens for external laboratory.Provide an environment to furnish high quality, accurate diagnostic laboratory resultsRun necessary lab requests in a timely precise mannerRecord appropriate results in patient's written and electronic files.Maintain accurate records on Quality Control, billing and send-out laboratory samples. Compassionately, calmly and gently approaches and handles patients.Have a basic understanding of animals, care and handlingApproaches and handles patients according to safety protocols and core values.Use practice management software to maintain client and patient records according to hospital protocol.Maintain solid grasp of common veterinary medical terms and abbreviations and is able to converse with other veterinary professionals in medical terms.Implement appropriate animal husbandry skills to decrease disease spread, injury and stress to patients.Why BluePearl?Our passion is pets.
