We are seeking a patient, dependable, and tech-savvy individual to provide one-on-one technology support for a client who is blind with intellectual disabilities. This role involves walking through and helping the client confidently use Apple devices, accessibility software, and online platforms while supporting their independence and creative work. 

The ideal candidate has experience teaching technology to individuals who are visually impaired and possess strong problem-solving skills. They are comfortable learning and adapting to new tools and technologies as needed and are patient and effective in teaching those tools until learners fully understand them. They demonstrate empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting individuals with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities 

• Assist with using an iPhone and iPad (IOS System), including accessibility features such as Voiceover, Siri, and other built-in Apple tools. 
• Help troubleshoot technology issues and adjust device settings to improve accessibility. 
• Support the client in navigating apps, websites, and software used for communication and daily tasks. 
• Assist with managing and maintaining an Etsy shop, including creating listings, uploading photos, writing descriptions, responding to messages, and helping with sales. 
• Assist with applications for craft fairs in the community and logistics for attending craft fairs. 
• Help organize digital files, photos, and artwork, and fill out PDF forms. 
• Stay informed about accessibility tools and technology updates that may benefit the client. 
• Provide clear, patient instruction while encouraging the client's independence. 

Qualifications 

• Experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired. 
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for effective client interaction and understanding.
• Strong knowledge of iPhone, iPad, Apple settings, and iOS systems. 
• Comfortable navigating websites, online marketplaces, and apps, especially Etsy. 
• Strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot common technology issues.
