Your Specific Responsibilities:
The OPS Operations Consultant supports key administrative and program functions within the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County (DOH‑Pasco). Primary responsibilities include coordinating activities within the Volunteer Health Services Program, developing microlearning training materials to strengthen workforce development, and overseeing daily operations of the Summit Professional Building Lobby Reception Desk. The consultant helps ensure a welcoming and compliant facility environment, contributes to staff and volunteer development, and enhances overall public health service delivery.
Volunteer Health Services Program Coordination
- Strengthen DOH‑Pasco’s Volunteer Health Services Program by assisting with recruitment, placement, and support of volunteer healthcare professionals.
- Provide onboarding and role‑specific training to volunteers to ensure an efficient and productive working environment.
- Maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with volunteers and staff.
Workforce Development & Microlearning Support
- Identify gaps and opportunities in staff training programs and assist in developing microlearning methods that foster skill retention and employee growth.
- Convey information effectively by listening to stakeholders, asking appropriate questions, and communicating clearly in both individual and group settings.
- Support presentation and communication needs related to training initiatives.
Reception Desk & Facility Lobby Operations
- Oversee the Summit Professional Building Lobby Reception Desk and greet visitors entering the facility.
- Determine the nature and purpose of each visit and direct visitors to the appropriate department.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and compliant reception area, including straightening educational pamphlets and monitoring common areas for regulatory adherence.
- Assist in marketing CHD services, promoting public health messaging, and supporting customer satisfaction surveys.
- Handle telephone calls courteously and effectively, providing helpful information to customers and visitors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Skill in calendar management and coordination of work assignments.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant rules, regulations, and procedures related to personnel program functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to interact with visitors and customers in a positive, helpful, and solution‑focused manner.
- Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage
Qualifications:
Minimum - Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint . Valid Florida Driver's License.
Preferred - Associate's Degree or higher in Public Health, Organizational Development, or a closely allied field.
