Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC experience, Vent/Trach management, tube/drain management, chest tube management, invasive line management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration skills. Description: This position focuses on critical care nursing in the ICU. The unit typically has 14 beds. Patient population includes general medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neuro cases. Common diagnoses consist of sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, COPD, respiratory failure, and others. Ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 with potential team nursing assignments. Long-term vented patients require specific management skills. The ideal candidate should manage invasives and read cardiac rhythms. Charge RN usually takes patient assignments. Support staff includes CNA, RT, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7. Technology used includes EMR: EPIC, IV pumps, and monitoring systems. Floating may occur within the scope of practice. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation and holiday expectations of one holiday per contract. Scrub color should be a solid, professional choice without graphics or logos.
