Real Estate Accountant

R.G. Huston Company, Inc. is an east side of Madison construction seeking an experienced, highly organized Real Estate Accountant to oversee the financial activity of multiple related entities. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, understands the inner workings of a business, and can manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will ensure transactions are accurately coded, invoices are processed and paid on time, daily cash activity is managed, and month-end financials are completed accurately and efficiently. What You'll Do Multi-Entity Accounting Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple related entities. Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and properly allocated. Manage intercompany transactions, loans, billing, and reconciliations. Maintain organized and accurate financial records. Work closely with company ownership and understand how business activity impacts the financials. Accounts Payable Review, code, approve, and process invoices for the appropriate entity, property, and account. Ensure invoices are accurate, properly documented, and paid on time. Resolve coding discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and payment questions. Maintain efficient invoice approval and payment process. Cash Management & Banking Manage daily cash activity across multiple bank accounts and entities. Monitor cash coming in and going out and upcoming payment obligations. Process rent payments, ACH transactions, credit cards, and other cash activity. Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records of transfers and intercompany activity. Communicate with ownership regarding significant cash activity and upcoming obligations. Month-End & Financial Reporting Take ownership of the month-end close for all entities. Prepare journal entries, accruals, depreciation, interest, and real estate tax entries. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies. Review financial results and identify unusual or incorrect activity. Compliance & Property Accounting Prepare monthly sales and use tax calculations, filings, and payments. Assist with tax registrations and annual Wisconsin DFI filings. Manage fixed asset and depreciation records. #J-18808-Ljbffr R.G. Huston Company, Inc.
