A Day in the Life

It’s 8:00 a.m. in Irving, TX. You roll into the shop, pull up the day’s work orders, and get hands-on with what you do best—keeping semi trailers safe, reliable, and road-ready. Your morning might start with a brake service, move into an electrical diagnosis using your favorite scan tool, and finish with a suspension inspection that ensures a fleet can hit the highway with confidence. Throughout the day, you document your work with care, bounce ideas off teammates, and keep customers in the loop with clear, professional updates.

What You’ll Do

• Handle scheduled maintenance and repairs on semi trailers—brakes, suspension, and electrical are your core focus areas.
• Use diagnostic equipment and tools to pinpoint mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Perform thorough safety-compliance inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Record all maintenance and repair activities accurately and consistently.
• Work closely with fellow technicians to deliver projects on time and at a high standard.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trailer technologies.
• Communicate clearly with clients about findings, timelines, and necessary repairs.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred.
• Hands-on experience as a semi trailer technician or in a comparable position.
• Strong command of trailer systems, including air brakes, electrical circuits, and chassis components.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Sharp troubleshooting ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
