Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift position at a trauma center requiring 1+ years of experience and Epic charting familiarity.

Details

• 205-bed hospital with trauma center designation
• 20-bed ICU with limited pediatric floor
• Services Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, ICU, and limited pediatrics
• 4-6 RTs on staff every shift
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in adult and pediatric respiratory care
• Experienced in endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, oral airway placement, and tracheostomy care
• Proficient in aerosol setup, MDI, nebulizer therapy, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Skilled in ventilator weaning and ABG interpretation
• Basic EKG interpretation skills required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across medical, surgical, rehab, progressive care, and ICU units
• Support high risk delivery and neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures as needed
• Olive green scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Facility requires candidates to live at least 50 miles away, local candidates not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted in advance for approval
